May and Day birthday celebration

Last Friday (28.08.09)I attended my parents birthday function at St Helen's Church, Serian. Both of my parents were born in the month of August. My other siblings all came to celebrate it. My eldest brother had a ride with me as he didn't bring along his family. As for me, my family was not in Kuching. So it's just me and my bro pimped a ride from Kuching to Serian.

The function @ pot bless was attended by church members. Two cakes were ready to represent each of my parents. My dad celebrated his 58th birthday while my Mom celebrated her 61st birhtday. Ever since we were knew the words of talking, we call our mum and dad by the name of
May and Day.

I don't know how it's started but we call them that way where else I usually heard other children calling their parents by the name of Mummy-Daddy or Mom-Dad, Or Mummy-Diddy etc...

In short my parents can be called
Mayday! (=red alert!)
in case of emergency ha ha!..

Day checking on dishes whether everything
was all set for the dinner.

Everybody's tried to pacify Aaron...
He was crying, not in the mood i guess..

Happy Birthday songs on air..

How bout me?? I celebrate birthday in August too.. :-)

Cake feeding.. I'm happy to see both of them.
Always remain a loving couple..

Queing for a plate of delicacies..

Kind a like this shot..

I got clear shots of May n Day but sorry I can't post it here coz me too in that shots.. he he..
Still want to remain mysterious...
Please don't get mad ok..

History of Designation Jazz..

Everybody knows one of the main character of the Transformers,

Autobot Jazz @ Designation Jazz(latest appearance).

As I am one of the thousands fans of the Transformers, I would like to elaborate the history of this character.

The first generation animated series was called :

Transformers : More Than Meets The Eye

Jazz is the "very cool, very stylish, very competent" member of the Autobots in the Transformers television and comic series based on the popular toy line produced by TAKARA and HASBRO.

His original vehicle mode is a Martini Porsche 935 Turbo racing car. Self-possessed, calm, and utterly collected, Jazz is head of Special Operations, with his own dedicated roster of agents. He often gives the most dangerous assignments to himself. It's not a matter of ego—he just really is the coolest head for the toughest missions.

Jazz's ease extends to whatever environment he finds himself in, no matter how weird or wonderful. He effortlessly tunes in to the local culture, assimilating and improvising, and making creative command decisions, making him an indispensable right-hand bot to Optimus Prime.

Jazz remains one of the more popular and well-remembered characters from the original series. Because of problems with trademarking the name Jazz, some later releases of Jazz are called Autobot Jazz.

Animated series summary; More Than Meets The Eye.

Jazz was among the Autobots who followed Optimus Prime on his mission aboard the Ark. They were attacked by Megatron's ship, the Nemesis, and crash landed on Earth, where all on board were preserved in emergency stasis. Four million years later, in 1984, a volcanic eruption awakened the Ark's computer, Teletran-I, and it repaired all on board. It reformatted Jazz in the form of an Earth race car.

Well, that's my blog name and it's cool...

Have a break, have a kit kat! n a mug of coffee..

This very morning i woke up just for the sake of doing overtime job on field..
So I woke up as usual and took a bath, brush my teeth etc..
While I was dressing myself i heard a noise from our master bedroom, i peep out and saw Dylan already woke up too..

He was smiling when he saw me..

After a while , i made myself a mug of coffee and took a packet of Kit Kat from the fridge..
It's weird to eat chocolate balls for breakfast but i don't know why suddenly i felt like to munch that soft creamy and chewy Kit Kat balls...(pls don't droll when reading this he he..)

hmmm... felling lazy when think about driving to workplace..

Dylan's smile.. refreshing my mind and body to go to work for today.

My nuffnang ads-Kit Kat always appear in my blog and i guess that was one of the factor that i thought about Kit Kat all the time..

Have A break, Have A Kit Kat!

Honey... I blew up the kids!

Still remember the movie "Honey, I blew up the kids".. It's about one family which the father of the family accidentally blown up his kid by laser device made by himself..
But that was another story...

I would like to share with you the sequence of my son, Daryl Emerson's photos. These photos were taken since he was 6mth old to 4 years of age. I purposely brought him to the photo studio in every 6 months just to snap a passport size photo of his image. So that when he grown up later, he can see the growing up sequence of his images since he was a baby. And it same goes to my youngest child, Dylan Ivan.

I had asked few friends of mine who are married and have kids about taking a passport size photo of their children. And none of them had been doing this. In that case, I am proud that I did this!

Serian 1963-2008

Last Monday my dearly wife brought along a book from her office. I was very eager to see the content of the book as it refers to the historical development background of Samarahan district from 1963 (Sarawak joined Malaysia) till 2008.

The title :
SAMARAHAN
Dari Kampung Terpencil ke Desa Ilmu

Preface from YAB Pehin Sri haji Abdul Taib Mahmud
(Chief Minister of Sarawak)-present.

"Let us start from different premises and think of what we can do for the people by coorperation rather than fighting. We should all think what we can do for the people, by being patience, in building up big machinery and building up the momentum of a strong development"

I am focusing on my hometown-Serian.

Here are some pics taken from the book:

This book compiled by a group of Samarahan Division Residential Office staffs.
Chief editor : Dr. Sulaiman Husaini
(Samarahan District Resident)

YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Hj Abd Rahman Yakub (left-wearing hat)
with Temenggong Jugah Barieng officiating the Serian District Office on 28 August 1971.

You can see the Sarawak first flags hanged among the Malaysia flags. The crown logo in the center reflects the Bristish administration before Sarawak joining Malaysia in 1963.

The skyview of Serian in 1970's. The old main bazaar of Serian.
Some of the bazaar had been reconstructed due to fireblazed in 2008.

Bridge that connecting Serian-Simanggang road back in the 1950's.
My parents were born in this era. Simanggang had changed it's name to Sri Aman in 1984.

The pretty maidens ushering the VIP at Kampung Rasau, Serian dated 16 Apr. 1975.
The road is muddy and some of the maidens not wearing slippers at all.

I was suprised to see that those maidens were sexy. I didn't know that it was their tradional attires at that time until I saw this pics.

At present, Serian is under the administration of Samarahan Division Residential office. Basically there are 4 districts under Samarahan Division administration :
1. Kota Samarahan
2. Asajaya
3. Serian
4. Simunjan

There's a lot more to tell but if you want to know more about it, you can find this book at the Samarahan Division Residential office.

Have a nice sweet day!
