Upgrading my screaming machine!

Hi there!... It’s been a while i didn’t enter the world of blogging. Well my fingers nowadays more on running through my guitar fretboard rather than writing a blog.. in other word, a bit procrastinating on posting a new entry.

This time around i’m gonna tell you about my recent activities especially onto my musical instrument. I bought a new stompbox- BOSS Super Chorus CH-1 to replace my previous BEHRINGER Chorus Orchestra C0600.

This is due to dissatisfaction towards the Behringer C0600 in terms of tonal characteristic. I’m not saying that Behringer C0600 is not good.. It is a good stompbox for beginner and also can be use for pro. and it is much cheaper than BOSS CH-1. But in term of tonal characteristic you can find that BOSS CH-1 gives a wide range of chorus tone compare to Behringer C0600.

After playing guitar for many years, i’ve intended to explore some of the popular guitar pickups like Dimarzio, EMG and Seymour Duncan. Those are 3 popular brands and most desired types of pickups by our local musician/guitarist in upgrading their guitars.

I’ve chosen Dimarzio pickups merely because Dimarzio got a wide variety of tones in each individual pickups from high output, medium output to vintage output. For my tonal arrangement i installed a high output pickup at the bridge and medium output on the neck. This arrangement is usually preferred by most guitarist that endorsed by the guitar maker for their signature series guitar. For example; Paul Gilbert of Mr. Big use Dimarzio pickups for all his signature series guitars (endorsed by Ibanez for his PGM series guitar).

I’ve installed 2 of my favourite guitars that is Ibanez PGM3 and Ibanez RG320FM with Dimarzio pickups. My PGM3 is installed with Dimarzio Evo 2 (bridge), Super Distortion S(mid) and PAF pro(neck) and the RG320FM is equipped with Dimarzio Crunch Lab(bridge) and Liquifire(neck).

Before this I don't really care about upgrading my guitars as for me there is not much different in tones compare to high quality pickups. But I was wrong.. there are much different in tones and sustains if u change the stock pickups to high quality pickups. And now it is never feel the same if i play the guitar with stock pickups compare to upgraded pickups.

Of course, in terms of pickups selection, one must look into what type of woods of their guitar because this affects a lot in terms of tonal characteristic and sustain. Types of strings also affect the tones of guitars. I use the string gauge 0.09 – 0.42 and my favourite brand of guitar strings is ERNIE BALL and ELIXIR.

Hello guys, it’s has been such a long time I didn’t update my blog.. ;-)
Sorry if u miss me.. hehe… I admit tat im getting lazier in updating my blog eventhough I have tones of stories to tell.. haha!XD. Just kidding!

Anyway, by uploading new pics will do the story for me ;-)

I bought this Yamaha keyboard in September coz i wanted to learn to play keyboard beside improvising my guitar skills.. Actually my wife is the one who really insisted to have a keyboard in the house, so i bought it and she really does play it more frequent than me.. haha XD

BOSS ME-25 multieffects processor.

This is a great multieffects. It's interface is easy to operate, fast tweak and desired tone storage! Beside the stompboxes that i've used, this is the lighter and smaller version compare to my current pedalboard. I need this one to lighten my instruments weight carriage to jamm studio.

Anything will do..

I’m back after a long break for myself (free from updating my blog.. hehe).. It’s seem that now i’m updating my blog once in a month *sigh*.. but anyway it’s better than never right?..

This time around anything will do in my entry.. Well i would like to share my story on my electric guitars or in other name, we call it axe (not the axe that we use to chop down trees or woods ok..)

I have several axes in my collection and mostly are Ibanez axes, as you know i’m a die hard fan of Ibanez axes ;-)

My 1^st axe was Ibanez GRG270 which has been use for jamm and stage performance. In 2010, i’ve sold my axe to my close friend, Chris. Sadly to let go but due to so many axes and some of them are under utilized, so i’ve decided to let it go.

There are 2 more axes to let go that is Epiphopne Gibson SG and Squier Fender Affinity Series. Those who interested can leave your message in my chatbox! TQ.

( Please bear in mind tat this is not a commercial break.. haha!XD )

My August activities..

Hi all, It’s been quite sometimes that I haven’t go through my bloglist and read some of my friends’ blog here. I’ve been quite buzy with my daily activities and workload. But one thing for sure.. I’ll find a time for me and my bandmates to jamm during night time and spend my time with my kids and wife.

On the 6^th to 8^th August, 2010 I was attending a Team Building course at

Grand Borneo Hotel, Kota Kinabalu. Me and several of my colleagues were selected for the course which was conducted by the company from Peninsular Malaysia called Success Touch.

It was a great course, everybody were having fun. Eventhough the course took place at the hotel and we had our early morning exercise at the hotel courtyard, but still it was fun thing to do.. ;-)

One of my leisure time at home is riffing my guitar. Sometimes my

son, Daryl accompany me and interrupt my playing by requesting to play

the guitar. He is getting expert in handling the electric guitar nowadays. Now he can hold and play my another Ibanez guitar beside the Ibanez S420. This time around is my adorable Ibanez guitar, the Ibanez JS100.

The Ibanez JS100 has sleek design and not heavy due to the body is

made of Basswood. A bit lighter than Mahogany wood. I’m sure for the guitarist, they know by what I’ve meant. You can look at the glimpse of his face showing his confidence and progress in learning to play the right tone! ;-)

see.. he is so confident!

I believe one day, he's gonna be an expert in guitar! ;-)

Like Father Like Son

It’s been a while since my last post in May 2010. I’ve been quite buzy lately and one of the channel that keep me attach to my friend is through FACEBOOK. Thanks to Facebook for keeping me in touch with my friends and colleagues. One of the reason for being procastinating in updating my blog hehe..

I have lots of activity in the month of July. Moreover the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) is still going on while i’m updating this new entry. Which is held on 9,10 & 11 July at Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching. I never attending the RWMF and one of my determination is to attend the event at least once or for one night event that if i have the time and chance.. haha! XD

Anyway that is not my highlight for this post. I’m sure most of you or we can say all of us ever heard of this quotation “Like Father Like Son”..

Well of course it’s about my son Daryl who is 5 years old now. As me myself is fan of electric guitars, I always teach and show to him the way i play guitar and the functions of each stompboxes (guitar effect pedals) everything he is sitting next to me watching me plucking and riffing my guitar.

I am a die hard fan of “IBANEZ” guitars and usually i will teach Daryl on how to play the Ibanez S420 guitar. It is because of all the guitars that i own, Ibanez S420 is the lightest guitar that Daryl can hold and play. Moreover its sleek design and slim body provides him easy to handle it, despite he is playing an adult instrument!

Eventhough he still don’t know the basic guitar chords but eventually he is enjoying strumming and riffing the guitar as he knew how to create a melody of his own and he also know how to play with the tremolo bar. He seems very much interested in learning guitar and someday I hope he can be a good guitar player for both acoustic and electric guitars!

APRIL : Month of the Land Below The Wind

Hi there I’m back again after LOST for a while… So how are you guys doin’ lately? Now is May and I’m gonna post about my trips (twice) to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in the month of APRIL, 2010.

My 1^st trip was on 4 April 2010, I went there with my colleagues all over Sarawak for a 1 week course attached to the Beverly Hotel, Kota Kinabalu. Here are some pics of the my activities (too lazy to jot down words to describe.. haha! XD ) :

Hello folks! It’s been a long time since my last post in Dec 2009.. *sigh* gosh..

One of my resolution this year is I think it’s time for me to reveal myself after more than a year i’ve been mysterious... Only some of U may have seen me..hehe U kno who U are. Thanx for not exposing me yet :-p

Why am I lazy to blog lately?

Hi there to all my blog readers.. It’s been 4 weeks now since my last entry on “The Enthusiastic Hikers”..

I wonder why am I lazy to blog nowadays.. Maybe on one of the reason is “Facebook”… the others is I am quite buzy with my workload now coz it’s toward the end of the year.

Anyway, I miss to read my frenz blog and one of my favourite blog is Metaga’s Villa blog..( hehe Ivy please control your nose or if not, it might going to expand haha! XD..

Others blog as well, I know I missed a few entry of your posts but I am not quitting my blogging activity..

Well, I am gathering my interest in blogging these few days, looking for a new entry for my new post soon. By the way, hope you guys all have a nice day ahead and take care!

The enthusiastic hikers..

Hello Everybody..

It’s been a long time since my last post.. well… I’m quite buzy nowadays (u can say that.. I would like to share about my latest activity that have been done last Saturday (7 Nov 2009).. Me and my colleagues went up hiking Mt. Santubong… my favourite hiking tracks.

I’ve been to the summit 6 times since Yr 2004. For your info I’ll hike that mountain once a year, at least and I make it compulsory for myself.. hehe..

So we geared up a group of enthusiastic hikers from Kuching and moved early in the morning. We met up at Bukit Puteri Base, a fastest track to the summit (eventhough it takes more than 3 hours to reach the top.. :-p

FUTSAL Games..

Hey guys, Im back…. After a hectic moments of works, courses and games… Ha ha! I’m I that buzy?? Nahhh… I don’t think so… It’s just my fingertips still like to procrastinate on posting a new entry lately… he he…

Ok… my last weekend activity was Involving in FUTSAL Tournament which was held in Sentosa Sports Centre, Jalan Stakan, Bt 7 Kota Sentosa. I’m sure Kuchingites most likely familiar with this name or know about this place.

This futsal tournament was held by our department and it was a male and female futsal games. There was no mixmatches on that day.

For the male groups, we were divided into 5 groups and the female groups divided into 3 groups. No specific name for the teams, we only grouping by numbers and my team was Group 1.-huh! first in a row!.. wait till you hear the result..hehe..

I brought my son along with me as I want to expose him to the excitement of playing futsal as futsal is one of my favourite game.. I rarely like to play soccer game coz I can’t stand to run in a long distance just to any chances to get a soccer ball!..

At the end of the games, my team was at the 3^rd place….*sigh*…

And for the female futsal games, all of the teams involved managed to get no. 1 to 3^rd placing as there were only 3 groups matched… ha ha! Eventhough the group was last in a row, they still can get no. 3 isn’t it?..

Anyway it was a fun games, we were tired and feel muscle aching all over the body. Some get their feet swollen.. but mostly muscle pain!

Like I used to hear, this:

My team was in 3rd place and we brought home Bronze medals.. (actually not really a bronze, it’s just the colour ha ha!)..

Lazy???

Lately my fingertips become lazy on typing a new entry for my blog... Maybe it's because towards the end of the year and my life is fully loaded with pile of works. It's not that my interest get faded everyday in blogging. I have so many stories to tell but so little time to slot in my entries..

Gosh... those feeling makes me focus more on my outdoor activities such as futsal games, mountain hiking, remote control car drifting, car modifications, jamming and many mores that i merely lazy to post a new entry..

Help me on this.. Please motivates me on keep on blogging... Coz i need one..

My hiking activities would be on November as well as I got two family day activities that I will be joining in November and December. Plus I got to attend course somewhere at one of the hotel in Kuching by this coming Sunday...

I hope you don't get bored with my stories... Anyway don't let your feeling throw away your interest in whatever you do.

I have a story to tell you about INTEREST..

My colleague, Adrianna is one of the enthusiasm paintballer in Kuching, and guess what? She was the only girl who team up with guys in the paintball games. Her team is callD'Virus Redz Shinobi.

Anyone from Kuching who attached to the paintball game should know this team. This team had joint the Kuching Paintball Cup 2009 at Kuching Stadium somewhere in August if i'm not mistaken. This story had been told to me a few months ago and I can hardly recall.

Unfortunately, the were lost in the preliminary round, that what she told me last time... She got passion for the love of the game. Eventhough she's the only female paintballer surrounded by male paintballers, she never thought that she couldn't catch up with those guys. For your info, during the shooting event last time at IPK Batu Kawa, her performance was much better than me.

Her deep interest for this game makes her leaves behind her RC drifting activity. She used to join us before she focused full attention to paintball games. Well, I am proud of her because she is very persistent and she managed to bring up her interest to the higher level of the game.

Until now, the D'Virus Redz Shinobi has only one female player and that is her. I wonder will they recruit another female paintballers in future.. My point of view is that once you have the interest in whatever you do, do it consistenly and never let your surrondings be a wall barrier in whatever you think suites you or best for your body and mind. Well I hope this entry will motivates you...( and I'm the one who thought that I need motivation instead of motivating you guys he he..)

The Marksman a.k.a sharp shooter

Last Saturday(03.10.09) was on the great moment for me as I attended a gun shooting practice held by our ministry with collaboration with the PDRM Bukit Aman. The event took place at IPK PDRM Batu Kawa, Kuching.

The first event was Bull Eyes target shooting practices comprised of 2 parts :
1) 10 metres range
2) 15 metres range

The 2nd event was the Group Plate Shooting. We were divided into 8 groups and i am in group Kuching 6.

As we were familiar to Semi Auto Glock gun for shooting practices, the PDRM Bukit Aman provided us with this type of gun. The gun is light in weight and easy to operate or handle, but be careful, do not take this for granted!

We came early that morning before 8 am and gathered at the Lapang Sasar IPK PDRM Bt. Kawa. One of our ministry branch from Sri Aman were geared up to join this event too.
For the first 10 metres range I didn't do quite a good job as out of 10 bullets only 3 hit the scoreboard... ha ha! I thought it was easy coz my last shooting with this gun was back in 2005.

But for the 15 metres range, I did a good job ( I can say that coz 2 of my colleagues did miss both scoreboards in both parts he he..) I hit 8 bullets out of 10...

It was an exciting and fun during the events. Everybody was pushing their efforts to show their best ability in target shooting. At the end of the day trophies and medals are given out to the winning inviduals and groups. As for me and my team mates, we were surprised to be announced the 3rd place in Group Plate Shooting... Ghosh!... we were very excited coz it only meant for 1st to 3rd placing out of 8 groups..

Well.. it was a great moment for me as I didn't expect to be one othe participants who had won the medal. And I drove home all the way back with smile :-)

Water Theme Park??

I'm sure most of the Kuchingites are familiar with one of the city hypermall that is Boulevard. Last Monday, me and my family went to the Boulevard just to have our meal at the KFC.. You know, children love KFC that my son, Daryl not even bother to eat rice for a dinner...

So went there that evening and had our meal... After that my wife decided to bring our kids to the so called mini water theme park..You can say that.. Located just at the ground floor outside the hypermall but still in the premise.

Stop and stare......-One Republic.
I bet he's thinking of jumping in that pool..

Daryl and Dylan were merely excited that evening. I told Daryl that we will come back tomorrow in the late afternoon for a swim. This water theme park is only meant for children and not adults. So if you're think that you are an adult, do not prompt yourself in the pool coz you might get caught by the security guards and people might label you as a mentally retarded ha ha!..

The next day, Daryl was so eager to have a swim that he slept early on that day just to restore his energy for swimming, jumping, giggling, somersault etc... eh! did I mention somersault?? The weather too was a bit cold in the late afternoon..

See!.. I told you he would jump..

After his fun going activity, I dressed him up and we then went for shopping in the Boulevard groceries mall.

One of the cartoon character that love by my son is BEN 10. He loves to watch the animated series and all the things related to it such as Ben10 shirts n shorts, slippers n shoes, watches, begs, stickers, figurines etc... In others words, the world of Ben 10..

Last week, I bought him an exercise book. This book is usually use by children in schools for their writting exercise. He asked me to bought it for him and i bought it so that he can learn to write alphabets and numbers, including drawing. Daryl's name was mispelled by his cousin, David.. instead of DARYL, it's turned to DEREL.. ha ha!So here is his work of art, Ben 10 alien character- The Rip Jaws;

May and Day birthday celebration

Last Friday (28.08.09)I attended my parents birthday function at St Helen's Church, Serian. Both of my parents were born in the month of August. My other siblings all came to celebrate it. My eldest brother had a ride with me as he didn't bring along his family. As for me, my family was not in Kuching. So it's just me and my bro pimped a ride from Kuching to Serian.

The function @ pot bless was attended by church members. Two cakes were ready to represent each of my parents. My dad celebrated his 58th birthday while my Mom celebrated her 61st birhtday. Ever since we were knew the words of talking, we call our mum and dad by the name of
May and Day.

I don't know how it's started but we call them that way where else I usually heard other children calling their parents by the name of Mummy-Daddy or Mom-Dad, Or Mummy-Diddy etc...

In short my parents can be called
Mayday! (=red alert!)
in case of emergency ha ha!..

Everybody knows one of the main character of the Transformers,

Autobot Jazz @ Designation Jazz(latest appearance).

As I am one of the thousands fans of the Transformers, I would like to elaborate the history of this character.

The first generation animated series was called :

Transformers : More Than Meets The Eye

Jazz is the "very cool, very stylish, very competent" member of the Autobots in the Transformers television and comic series based on the popular toy line produced by TAKARA and HASBRO.

This very morning i woke up just for the sake of doing overtime job on field..
So I woke up as usual and took a bath, brush my teeth etc..
While I was dressing myself i heard a noise from our master bedroom, i peep out and saw Dylan already woke up too..

He was smiling when he saw me..

After a while , i made myself a mug of coffee and took a packet of Kit Kat from the fridge..
It's weird to eat chocolate balls for breakfast but i don't know why suddenly i felt like to munch that soft creamy and chewy Kit Kat balls...(pls don't droll when reading this he he..)

hmmm... felling lazy when think about driving to workplace..

Dylan's smile.. refreshing my mind and body to go to work for today.

Honey... I blew up the kids!

Still remember the movie "Honey, I blew up the kids".. It's about one family which the father of the family accidentally blown up his kid by laser device made by himself..
But that was another story...

I would like to share with you the sequence of my son, Daryl Emerson's photos. These photos were taken since he was 6mth old to 4 years of age. I purposely brought him to the photo studio in every 6 months just to snap a passport size photo of his image. So that when he grown up later, he can see the growing up sequence of his images since he was a baby. And it same goes to my youngest child, Dylan Ivan.

I had asked few friends of mine who are married and have kids about taking a passport size photo of their children. And none of them had been doing this. In that case, I am proud that I did this!

Last Monday my dearly wife brought along a book from her office. I was very eager to see the content of the book as it refers to the historical development background of Samarahan district from 1963 (Sarawak joined Malaysia) till 2008.

The title :

I was suprised to see that those maidens were sexy. I didn't know that it was their tradional attires at that time until I saw this pics.

At present, Serian is under the administration of Samarahan Division Residential office. Basically there are 4 districts under Samarahan Division administration :

This very morning I went to work early coz my wife taken a leave from today till weekend. So I drove my car alone.. but cheerfully he he..(can u see the glimpse of smile here :-)

While I was driving on the way to my workplace, i was amazed by the beautiful morning scenery; the lights...

Me > Nice...errr where did u buy that?
Nea> At 100% discount store at Tabuan Jaya.
Me > Nice. Can I see it? (request for holding it)
After a while i asked this;
Me >Can I have it so that you could buy another one later.. he he? (a teasing question)

Nea> Really? U want it??..(a confirmation question i guess)
Me > No lah.. I just joking..(but in my heart, if i have it I will be happy..)
Nea> Here.. I give it to you..

Wahhh!!!... I was so happy coz the gift is so cute-The alloy bottle opener!(foot shaped)... yahooo!!

Fatal accident !!!..

This morning an accident happened along the road of Kuching-Samarahan. This mishap had caused traffic congestion along the main road. I was on my way to Samarahan to send my wife and kids to their workplace and baby sitter's home. I managed to snap a few shots along the way driving. Can't hardly to let the incident passed by without capturing the scenes at the incident.

We heard the news on air in 101.3fm channel (Iban channel), and i immediately grabbed my XPERIA to snap the tragic scenes. The accident was between the scooter and the oil tanker. The scooter if i'm not mistaken was an Ego or Karisma believed to be head on collision with the the oil tanker and coz a fatal accident!..

The rider died on the spot. I'm not sure whether the rider is a male or female but my instint believes that the person is a male. From the news, it was said that the rider wanted to overtake the car from behind and suddenly head on collision with the oil tanker which came from the opposite direction. The scooter ran down by the oil tanker and caused severe injuries to the casualty.

Along the way to the place of incident, I could saw the smashed glass and the broken pieces of scooter shattered on the road and the scooter laid aside the main road.

Ransacked!!!..

Havoc! Panic! Surprise...

all in one when the first staff to reach the office found out that our office building had been ransacked by thieves ( i believe theres more than a person)!..

When I reached the office this morning I didn't noticed anything weird happening while punching the attendance card. Until I went to the next cafeteria and heard the stories from my colleagues who had came earlier. As usual my breakfast for today was noodle soup and a cup of tea.We talked about it all the time while having our breakfast.

I was told that it probably happened late at night or dawn. The police haven't arrived yet and the damaged shutters still had not been touched by our staff due to for police investigation. To my utmost surprised the cafe next to our building had been ransacked too. I heard that only coins had been taken from the cash register machine as there were no ringgit inside. Hah!.. those thieves really don't wanna lose something that they can haul.

Frustrated!..

Last night we decided to jamm at 10pm. Nick was the first person who reached the Pearl Jamming Studio, MJC. Immediately after he was loafing at the studio, he sms me. At that moment I was on the road driving with constant speed, smooth, relaxing, no dogs or cats crossing the road... he he, makes me feel cool to rock the studio! What an imagination...

When i reached the studio, I sms Nick to come down and have a cup of tea at the nearest coffee shop. There was a funfair compound nearby and the event is still happening with it's ferris wheel spining, neon lights blinking etc..(to long to describe, so i make it short-quite happening lah..)

While waiting for 3 of our line-up to show up, we ordered drinks and had a chit-chat. After a while, we then went back to the studio and loafed with the studio manager. We waited a bit long until my eyes getting sleepy. Luckily, two of them showed up and im feeling refreshed again.. But there's still one person that haven't show up, Stanly;our bassist.

We called few times and we even sms him, but to our dissapoinment, there was no single answer from him. Where did he go?? Question pop up in my mind. Just before the plan, Nick told me that Stanly will be coming for the jamm and he sounded ok like there was no barrier for him to come down that night.

We wait and wait.. My eyelids getting sleepy and my feelings started to get frustrated. Well everybody seems frustrated at that time. My dream to rock the studio that night all gone, vanished.. Suddenly a sms appeared in our drummer, Harry's mobilephone saying that he was tired and went off sleep early that night. What the heck!..He was all the time snoring while we we waiting for him. This is unacceptable!! All of us were angry with him and I don't know what did Harry replied to him. A magic word I guess.. The clock ticked almost 11:45 pm and we decided to go home..

So I drove home.. I am frustrated but I was still cool driving on the road. I turned up loud the music on the way home. When I reached home, I saw my son Daryl was still awake and crying..tried to search his belongings I guess. His cheeks soaked with tears... I felt pity on him so I asked him,

Me : What are u looking for, Daryl.
Daryl : My wallet (he meant the Bumblebee wallet-He's the no. 1 fan of Transformers!)
Me : There's your wallet.. (by pointing at the top of the TV showcase)

He then took the wallet and asked for his Ben10 cards collection.. Eventhough i'm frustrated about the jamming matters but i can feel and shared his sadness on finding his belongings coz he usually tidy up his belongings before getting sleep. So, I took his Ben10 cards and gave it to him. At that time his facial expression getting a bit cheerful.

Then he asked this;
Daryl : Papa, I wanna watch the new Transformer movie..( I wasn't suprised because he just woke up and it's still early to take a nap).
Me : OK sure..

The clock was nearly 12:30 am. I turned on the DVD player and we both watched the 2nd disc(VCD) of the movie. He sat down while me myself laid down. He still awaken and concentrated on the TV screen. I'll then asked him to lay down. That's my technique to make him go off sleep early rather than sitting.. he he..

Daryl rearranged his Ben10 cards collection.

Suddenly there was another request;
Daryl : Papa, wanna drink milk choccolate... (wahh... very demanding my son..
but it's ok coz I love him. Afterall, his an obedient child)
Me : Daryl wanna drink yea? (a confirmation question)
Daryl : Arr.. (means yes!)

So I made him a drink. It was almost 01:00 am, I asked him to go to sleep coz it's already late. He obeyed me and we went to bed. My wife and my baby seems to have a good night sleep that moment. I was sleepy but I don't get frustrated anymore coz I did chat with Daryl and it made my frustration fade away. What matters is I wanna see Daryl to be happy before he's going for a sleep that night..

So, it does..

When Autobot meets Decepticon..

Yesterday, while I was in the office doing my work,suddenly I have a thought of my old buddy, Christopher. We used to be working at the same company last time until I moved out and joined the government body in 2005.

So I called him and set a meeting place somewhere in the coffeeshop in Tabuan Laru. As I arrived there, I knew he was waiting for me coz i still recognized his car. I walked towards him and saw him smilling at me while sitting at one of the corner in the coffeeshop. I greeted him and this was our conversation;

me : Hey, how's your life?
chris : As usual..(with his tiring and sleepy look after working on the night shift)
me : Have you ordered something to eat?.. (while grabbing the seat)
chris : Nop.. i have no appetite to go for breakfast.. (still not in the good mood i guess)

I ordered a special mee soup as I haven't had my breakfast before 8am. We continued chatting and after a while he asked me whether i am free at that moment. I replied that actually I have an outside job to do but because we were very seldom meet, so I agreed to go to his place as it was not far from the corner and continued to chit chat for a while.

We talked about our past time together where we used to be partners in crime, going through the hardship together and having fun while i am still single at that time. We laughed and jokes until his eyelids getting sleepy but still have the energy to story about his life nowadays. Actually at that moment, he had a hardtime going through in his life and he shared it with me. I gave my opinions on his problem and i am glad that he had a bit relief coz he found some answers to his hardship.

We had been friends for a long time and I am glad that we never forget each other eventhough now we have our own family, but we're still keep in touch. When I was about to drive off from his place, I managed to take a few shots of our cars. To my suprised, he was the follower of Decepticon! A sticker of Decepticon paste on his front windshield. So i mentioned this;

me : I never thought that you're a Decepticon..
chris : Ha ha now U know it.. (with his proud looking facial expression)
me : See! I am the Autobot.. (by pointing at Autobot sticker at my car windshield)
chris : So, we both now are enemies.. ha ha! (we both laughed at the same time..)

My guitar collections

Today, I wanna talk about my interest in music. Honestly I began to learn guitar when I was 16yrs old.. Usually one will start earlier such as before 13yrs old. It's all started when one of my schoolmate in secondary school, Mazalan invited me to join his band for a year end school show in SMK Serian in 1989. I was surprised that he would chosen me to be a bass player. My replied was i wanted too, but i don't even know how to play a guitar!
he he.. that's what we call enthusiasm..

He said, don't worry i'll teach you. He intended to form a band group and need to look for a suitable bassist. How I feel lucky at that time coz I know a bit about guitar but I don't know how to play it. From that on, I've learned a guitar lesson from him and the skills to be a good guitarist. Mazalan is a lefthanded guitarist and he's a skillfull musician. He knows how to sing and play drums quite well.

As years goes by, we all grew up and started to futher studies and some of my band group looking for a job in their young age. As for me, I went to Institut Teknologi Mara, Kuching (now they called it UiTM Kota Samarahan as it moved to this area in 1997).. But we still hang around sometimes and learned new skills and guitar scales and chords.

One day he admitted that my guitar plucking is much softer than him. In other word much better tham him, he he.. Wow! that was an unexpected compliment from my guru! Yea, I admit that but in lead guitar, he is much far better than me.

I bought my first guitar 'Ibanez GIO' in 2006. All this time I only played acoustic guitar at home and jammed at the studio around town. It cost me RM930.00 for that, but my interest in music had driven me to buy an electric guitar for my own. I even bought a set of amplified speaker and guitar effects gadget.

Now in 2009, I bought another guitar that was advertised in www.mudah.my in June 2009. I was attracted to that guitar coz it is an 'Epiphone' model of Gibson guitar, plus it is made in Korea! This model use to play by Avril Lavigne in her 'Try to shut me up tour' in Canada, 2006. Me and Nick went to the owner of the Epiphone place and he sold it out to me after a negotiation of price reduce. At last, he agreed to sold it to me by RM750.00.. he he.. I'm such a good persuader. He originally bought it by the price of RM1,600.00 in 2007. I guess i'm lucky coz it all included guitar strap and the case.

I love to jamm with my band now. It can relieve my stress from work and we use to jamm at night time only.. Oh! one more thing, I admire women who can play guitar like my wife. That's why I attracted to her during our dating games last time. My wife can sing along and play guitar, but now she's seldom strum the guitar coz our acoustic guitar is old and the melody is not catchy enough to grab her feeling. That's what she told me lar..Err.. I'm I right??..

Cinema cinema cinema...

I brought my son, Daryl to watch his all time favourite movie; Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. So i took a day off on Monday,29th June, coz I knew there will be not much people will be watching the cinema on Monday morning particularly. On the first epic, when he was about a 1 year plus, he loves to watch the Transformers VCD again and again until he slept in the evening. I bet he watched it more than 50 times coz he loves the robots characters so much.

My wife working on that day, so that moment was father n son hang around town he he.. Daryl was so excited that he keeps telling me that are we gonna watch Transformers movie at the cinema. And I replied, yes sure we'll do.. We went to Star Cineplex at Medan Pelita around 10:30 am. We reached there in about 11:10 am. The movie just about to start in 5 mins time. I bought a tickets for both of us and also a regular coke and snacks!

We entered the Hall 3 and seated at the middle of the hall. Daryl was happy that he keeps on butt nagging at the seat as the seat can be lifted up like playing sea-saw in the playground. He was so concentrated when it comes to the fight of Autobots and Decepticons and he didn't move a bit, only his mouth munching the snacks ha ha!..

Too bad I didn't shots his photo in the hall coz photo taking is prohibited in the cinema hall. Afraid of piracy activity I guess. That's why when we buy a pirated VCD, there will be some heads move along the movie screen!

We went to KFC after that and ate some hot and spicy chic!.. remember the
Sector Seven guy saying this..." and criminal are hottt!!...

Ok, so our father and son session was great and Daryl seem happy all the way home. He said "Daddy it's best to watch the cinema!..

Tour of Duty II

Well, I'm free now. On my 2nd entry, we continue our journey back from Simunjan after our task had finished. But before that we had our lunch at the food stall just next to the wet market. After we had enough, then we moved back to Serian. On the way back to Serian we stopped by at Balai Ringin to do inspection on sundry shops and the wet market.

Balai Ringin a small town in between Serian and Simunjan. Well technically, it is in beetween Serian and Sri Aman. For those who never stop by there, here are some of the photo shots;

From Balai Ringin we went back to Serian before we went to my parents place for an overnight stay. We had BBQ that night and I can see that all of us are having fun BBQuing! Wish someone can do a massage for me.. Body aching on the bumpy ride for 2 consecutive days, and it's on weekend!! everybody were resting but us??

My tour of duty

I would like to share with you my tour of duty on 20th - 21st June 2009. I was assigned for an outstation job on that particular day. Me and 3 of my colleagues and a driver moved with and old Toyota Land Cruiser from Kuching in the morning. Actually we already booked a brand new Toyota Fortuner for us the day before the departed, but something mixed up and we had to move using the Land Cruiser. So guess what? I got a headache due to the bumpy ride all the way to Simunjan. All the suspension system geting stiff coz it has not been replaced since the last replacement. The 4 wheeler is waiting to be forfeited..

On the way to Simunjan, it happenned there was an accident occured at the Kuching-Serian road near miles29. I asked our driver stop us by the roadside coz I wanna took a shot of the incident. I asked a man on what has happened. From the information that I get, the lady and her baby in the black Viva was severely injured. 1 kid also injured and the driver, a male was badly hurt on his forehead.

I was told that the accident occured due to one lorry wanted to make an illegal U-turn and most probably coz panic to both viva and the van drivers which came on opposite directions. The Viva hit the front part of the lorry while the van hit the rear part of the lorry. I don't know about the van driver condition because I was in a hurry to snap pics.

After that we moved to Serian town for breakfast. After we had our breakfast, we're heading straight for Simunjan town which is about 100-150km from Kuching.

On the way headed to Simunjan, we had to stop by at Hospital Simunjan coz one of my friend got his nature called. He had to stand stomachache about more than 10km just to reach the Hospital washroom ha ha!..

Weird but True!

I managed to snap pictures of one place that seems to me is weird...
A graveyard in between the housing area! While I was coming back from work, I decided to snap a few pic. of this place which I was known by it a long time ago... not so long lah..

Actually I knew this place in 2008. I just wanted to share with you the reality bites of my article. So I drove in this housing area and captured a few snaps of the so called 'beautiful scenery'...
don't you think so??

This graveyard is actually the original site for a burial belongs to Anglican community. I heard that the developer had proposed to buy this piece of land and as a compensation, they will moved all the tombs to the new place. It is because they wanted to develop the houses and not wanted the graveyard to be in the middle of the housing area. But the locals or villagers were disaggreed and wanted to maintain the site for their community graveyard. So, that how's it goes..

Well, this place is called Midway Crescent Garden, Kota Samarahan. I heard of several strange stories from the residents that lives nearby. It's scary to them but for me, I'm not afraid of no ghost! Come on! Have faith. If you believe in God, there's noting to fear off, right?

Official aka 2 day vacation trip in KK

On 15th June, I'm off flew to the Land Below the Wind and landed in KK approximately 4:55 pm.. the touchdown! I was sleeping all the way flight from Kch to KK, Sabah. On board I met a new friend, a malay lady was working with the Natural Resources And Environment Board in Kuching. She was friendly and we chatted for a while. I noticed that she's not sleeping because all the way flight she was reading a book.

As we arrived at the KK airport, we had to que for a cab becoz at that moment the main road in KK was in traffic congestion. It's hard to get a taxi during the after working hours..

My friend, Halimah is looking for something to buy as a souvenir at
the Pasar Kraftangan.

The promising and tasty squids, prawns and ikan bakar... U should try the ikan bakar 'Uji Rashid'.
If U ask them why Uji Rashid, definitely u'll will laugh becoz of the answer.

I'm going to the Sabah again next Monday,15th June for an official matters.

Three of us here will be going there for a one night stay in Kota Kinabalu.. My last visit to KK if I'm not mistaken was in February 2009, attending a 3 days course organized by our ministry.
